We had a total of 78 Corvettes show up, 60 registered for the judging, and 38 awards were presented along with lunch for two, event t-shirts and goodie bags. All registered Corvettes also received a nice attendance prize, and were able to participate in the silent auction. We fed over 200 people at lunch, and had a perfect early fall day! I have enclosed a couple of pictures—one shows our “command center”, and the others are random crowd shots, and finally, Ryan Hulett presenting the “Best of Show” award. Everyone who attended had a great time, and are already making plans for next year’s event. We had Corvette out-of-town participants from St. Louis, Kansas City, Hannibal, Jefferson City, Stover, Sedalia, Waynesville, Warsaw and Columbia in Missouri; Quincy, Illinois, several cities in Kansas; Mena, Arkansas, and one young man who came all the way from Jackson, Tennessee!
The out-of-towners out-numbered local participants by almost a 2 to 1 margin, and for some, it was their first visit to the Lake of the Ozarks. The local businesses and merchants were very supportive, and special thanks to Beach Burgers who hosted our Friday Night “pre-meeting”, and to local DJ, Rob Mitchell (and his daughter), who donated their time to play great music. Nationally known Corvette parts businesses and suppliers also helped make the show a success. The “Stockings for Soldiers” program is our charity, and our donations will help stuff Christmas Stockings for our service men and women serving in Afghanistan.
This annual event is a joint effort between the Linn Creek Corvette Association (LCCA) and Ron Hulett Chevrolet/Buick/GMC.
